I-95 - ACK!

Bridge into New Hampshire from Maine
We made it to Littleton, Massechusettes today after a harrowing drive down I-95!  Jeff and I both said we were kind of sad leaving Maine.  It means we are on the return trip having made it to our northernmost destination. (Except Canada and we won't talk about that - lol!)  We really love Maine.  If we ever get the chance, we will spend more time here. Being near the ocean is just the best.  But the traffic is awful.  We saw two Bald Eagle nests sitting atop those tall electrical poles along the highway.  We could even see the little baby eagles head pop up!  You'd think they'd go somewhere quiet!  But they must feel right at home amidst the hubbub.

Traffic on the river
We drove from Maine through New Hampshire  (again we only spent 20 minutes in New Hampshire) and into Massachusettes all in one day.  The traffic on I-95 is horrendous.  There was an accident that the GPS diverted us around and onto US 1 which took us through Wells and York, Maine. Both darling towns - near Kennebunkport - but very busy because it's the holiday weekend.  We are also getting frustrated by paying money for the toll roads.  It would be one thing if they used that money to improve the roads but who knows what they use it for.  Here in Massachusettes they might use it for the roads but the bridges are something else.  Practically jars the teeth out of your head going across those.

Our home in the woods - Boston Minuteman Campground
We are staying in a beautiful campground called Boston Minuteman Campground. Have seen little squirrels and chipmunks everywhere.  The chipmunks are so tiny compared to the squirrels. This afternoon Mya and I played basketball, volleyball, and Bocce Ball (we made up our own rules!).  We tried to play ping-pong but the people before us lost the dang ball! This campground is magical - such tall trees.  And the pine needles are those long skinny kind that just carpet the ground.  I told Mya that I wanted her to "turn straw into gold" or I wasn't going to feed her.  She came into the RV and told Dada she was coming inside because "mom was being weird, talking about straw".  Remember Rumplestiltsken??  Where is her sense of humor?

Beautiful tiger lilies in the campground gardens
(Next morning):  We are up (Jeff and I) and getting ready to head through Connecticut and into Pennsylvania.  We are headed to Gettysburg but have one night in between here and there.  The toughest part of this traveling is finding spots to stay along the route, deciding which road to take, etc.  It's a bit cloudy and humid this morning but just as beautiful.  Oops.  It's 8:20 am and time to pack up!
